Ransomware Hit 1,140 Industrial Sites Last Quarter Without Touching a Single Machine

Ransomware took down 1,140 factories in Q2. That is a lot of lost productivity in one of the most important parts of the economy.

A report from Dragos counted 1,140 ransomware incidents aimed at industrial manufacturers. That works out to about 12 attacks every day. Manufacturers took the biggest share with 747 of those hits.

The odd part is how these attacks stopped production without laying a finger on the actual machines on the floor. The report does not spell out the exact method, but the result is the same: lines go quiet and orders stop moving.

Why This Hits Small Manufacturers Hard
