1. Multi-factor Identification is the best way to stay protected!
Personal: Select more security options > set up two-step verification to turn it on > follow further instructions provided Work: Have your administrator enable two-step verification > log in as normal > answer the prompts for more info > click next
2. Choose a strong password
Rather than using the same password for everything, choose a long, unique password and change it semi-often.
3. Use the desktop apps
While it is tempting to log into Microsoft 365 from your browser, if available, use the legitimate apps for access. This is the most secure option. It’s also important to keep the apps updated.
4. When all else fails, make sure you can recover your account
On the Microsoft security basics page, add in all of your info, and keep it up to date in case of an emergency recovery!
5. Keep an eye out for phishing scams
There are plenty of fake emails floating around about the security of your Microsoft account. Stay aware; look for typos in the email address; and when all else fails, contact ACS to ask for help!
