This guide is for small-business employees who are running an outdated version of Windows 11 and see no available updates when checking Windows Update manually. Following the steps below will allow your PC to successfully upgrade to the latest version of Windows 11.
Why This Happens
Sometimes Windows Update does not automatically offer the latest feature update even though your current version of Windows is out of date. The latest manual update package requires your PC to pass a compatibility check before the upgrade is allowed to proceed. Skipping that check is why the update appears to stall or go missing.
How to Fix It
- Open your web browser and search Google for Windows 11 download.
- Navigate to the official Microsoft Windows 11 download page in the search results.
- Download and run the Windows PC Health Check tool from that page to verify your device meets the requirements for the latest version of Windows 11.
- After the PC Health Check completes, return to the Windows 11 download page and run the manual update again.
- The upgrade should now proceed. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
