Business analytics used to be an enterprise thing. The platforms were expensive, they were built for big companies, and they required smart people writing very complicated queries just to get a basic answer out of your own data. On top of that, there was a ton of setup involved before you could even get access to anything useful. It was just a lot.

What AI Actually Does to Your Data Now
With AI tools today, all you need is an API or an MCP connector, and you can start pulling everything you ever want to know about your business. Those are just the connectors that link your system to another system, and in this case, that other system is an AI that can read all your data and make it make sense.
You can get that data back as tables, spreadsheets, web pages, documents, whatever works for you. No statistics degree. No analyst on staff. No complicated query language to learn.
There is a company called Plain English Analytics doing this, and it is a good idea. But I want to be straight with you: you do not need to hire them. If you want detailed analytical data pulled from your ERP, your MRP, your medical records system, your accounting software, QuickBooks, wherever your data lives, we can do that for you and present it any way you want.
One Thing You Cannot Skip
Before you hook any AI tool up to your business data, you have to get the permissions right. If you just connect a free account to your systems, that provider is going to use your data. Even if you are paying for it, there is usually a checkbox you have to find and set that says do not use my data. You have to do that.
And make sure whoever is touching your data has it configured correctly on their end too. This is not optional. Get it wrong and you could end up sharing information you never intended to share, with your whole organization or beyond.
