If You Run a Small Manufacturing Shop, IMTS 2026 Is Worth Knowing About
I honestly wish I had known about this sooner, because I would have loved to go check it out myself.
IMTS 2026 is a manufacturing technology trade show happening right now in Chicago. It runs on a two-year cycle, so each time it comes around it’s a pretty significant moment for the industry. Taiwanese suppliers are there showcasing what’s going on in smart manufacturing technology, and from what I can tell, it sounds like exactly the kind of thing a small manufacturer would want to see in person.
Why This Is Worth Your Time
If you’re a small manufacturer and you want to see what’s new in manufacturing technology, this is where it’s at. I’d genuinely love to walk a floor like that and see what’s out there. New equipment, new processes, new tools that could change how a shop runs.
Small manufacturers get hit from both sides: high labor costs and high capital costs. Anything that helps you run more efficiently matters. Seeing that technology in person, rather than reading a spec sheet, is a completely different experience.
