Windows 11 24H2 Is Losing Security Updates in October. Run Your Updates Now.
This one is pretty simple, but it matters. If you are running Windows 11 24H2 on any of your machines, you need to get in there and run your updates before October. Because next month, those machines stop receiving security updates entirely.
And here is the irony: the reason most people end up in this situation is that they have not been running their updates. So now they are not getting security updates because they have not been getting their updates. It is a little circular, but it is very fixable.
Why This Is a Bigger Deal Than It Sounds
Your computers are not just work machines. They are connected to everything. Your home PC, your work laptop, your spouse’s computer, your kids’ machine, they are all on the same network. An unpatched, unsupported computer is a way in. I think of it as the Trojan Horse into the rest of your life, your banking, your other computers, all of it.
For business owners, this is even more important. You do not want an unprotected machine sitting on your network touching your business data, your client files, or anything financial.
What You Need to Do
Go run your Windows updates. On every machine. Do it this week. Do not wait until October to find out you missed the window. This applies to your business computers and your home PCs.
If you own a manufacturing business, pay extra attention here. You have expensive machines that depend on the computers running them behaving correctly. A security gap on the software side can become a very expensive problem on the shop floor very quickly.
If you want help making sure all your machines are patched and protected automatically without having to think about it, that is exactly what a good managed IT setup handles for you.
